Facts:
Wide field
Eyepiece: A wide field eyepiece creates larger images
than the standard eyepiece. The eye point is slightly above the top surface of
the lens. A bigger image is easily seen and students can comfortably use the
microscope while wearing glasses.
Retractable 40xR objective: A retractable objective lens provides
additional protection against objective lens or slide damage.
Slip Clutch: Prevents damage to the focusing mechanism by disengaging the
coarse adjustment knob at the top and bottom end points.
Retractable, oil immersion 100x Objective: The 100xR lens is sealed in
the objective case. This allows the end of the objective to be immersed in oil
during use, without letting oil inside the lens system.
Three Major Elements: Objective Lens, Eyepiece, and Illumination. There
are many other parts and accessories to a microscope, but all of them are
designed to assist these three elements in carrying out their proper functions.
Revolving Nosepiece: The revolving nosepiece acts to carry the different
powered objective lenses into the optical path, thus increasing or decreasing
the magnification.
